Beyond the campaign trap

Most digital marketing is trapped in an expensive, one-way routine. Companies spend millions on "Click-to-Web" ads, only to lose over 90% of their traffic the moment users hit a static landing page. Brands push messages outward, expecting customers to click through and fill out forms. It is a monologue that ignores what the customer actually wants in that moment.

We knew there had to be a better interface, one that could lift conversion rates while handing us rich insights into customer expectations and needs.

the solution

From campaigns to conversations

To bridge the gap, we built a Marketing AI Agent designed specifically for guided, conversion-focused conversations. Through smart UX and UI choices, the agent can answer questions around the campaign while always steering users back to the primary conversion goal.

Using WhatsApp as conversational campaign interface unlocked several game-changing advantages:

  • Frictionless Entry: We made it easy for users to initiate conversations instantly via "Click-to-WhatsApp" links in emails and digital ads.
  • Convenient Media Capture: Instead of forcing users to manually upload documents, we enabled them to simply snap a photo and send& it directly in the chat.
  • Hybrid UI: We combined natural language processing to allow for free-text typing with interactive UI elements like quick-reply buttons to ensure intuitive navigation while maintaining high completion speed.
  • Built-in Support: We paired modern LLMs with Knowledge Base AI (RAG) grounded in our client's internal documentation. This enabled natural, helpful dialogues where the AI agent answered campaign FAQs in real time, eliminating user hesitation without breaking the flow.

Built for Scale: Modular Plug-and-Play Campaign Architecture

To maximize ROI, we engineered a fully modular backend designed for rapid adoption across different campaigns and brands. Instead of building static flows from scratch for every new campaign, we structured the conversational framework like building blocks. Each brand can customize the user journey for their campaign by selecting which steps to include, dropping unnecessary questions, or reordering the entire sequence to fit their specific campaign requirements and goals.

To make launching a new campaign as seamless as possible, we managed the entire campaign template through a standard, intuitive Excel spreadsheet. Clients can simply update the sheet with their desired step order and campaign copies.

The AI agent adopts the information provided by the spreadsheet, automatically updating the operational logic and campaign content accordingly. Thanks to this modular approach, new campaigns can be configured and pushed live with minimal developer intervention, in a fraction of the time it would take in a static setup.

the results

Happy user, successful campaign

The shift from static webforms to interactive chat delivered impressive results, yielding impressive spikes in both initial engagement and campaign completion. Across two separate campaigns using our Marketing AI Agent, we achieved completion rates of 86% and 97%.

The momentum extended far beyond the initial entry:

  • Share & Recommend: The campaigns earned an average "Would recommend to a friend" rate of 75%, with 1 out of every 4 participants actively sharing the first campaign.
  • Frictionless Media Capture: In the second campaign, which asked users to submit product photos, the convenience of WhatsApp truly shined, with users sharing an average of 3 images per interaction.
  • User Approval: Participants overwhelmingly appreciated the channel, yielding a 96% positive feedback rating (thumbs-up).

Most notably, 64% of users explicitly stated they prefer WhatsApp over traditional webforms or emails, and 81% said they would participate in future campaigns via WhatsApp.

What's next?

The results of the two campaigns speak for themselves, proving that when you make marketing feel like a conversation, everyone wins.

Building on our findings, we plan on taking this conversational framework to the next level by scaling it across more brands and campaigns to maximize reuse. On the tech front, we will integrate advanced AI, like OCR for automated receipt validation and fraud detection, while expanding the assistant to handle the full end-to-end customer journey across sales, support, and detailed performance reporting to drive long-term ROI and customer lifetime value.
